20 Observations of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
1. The things that annoy me and that I complain about in others are the very things I myself do.
2. I seem to like the taste of my foot… apparently I stick it in my mouth all the time.
3. I just happen to think my way is the best way.
4. A very large number of Christians actually follow the satanic bible instead of the Holy Bible.
5. Adults are not like kids…they are worse! I have been called more names and ignored the most as an adult than my middle school and high school years combined.
6. I definitely believe my husband was hand picked by God to me…please pray for him-poor fellow.
7. Those who think God did a tremendous miracle by saving people like Alice Cooper, don’t understand what sin, grace, and mercy really mean. Because then they would see that it is truly a miracle that ANY OF US have been saved. I really hate the attitude of “Well, at least I wasn’t that bad.”…Really?
8. Christians are no longer allowed to debate only converse because it’s nicer.
9. It is very lonely being between Romans 1 and Romans 2. I’m either accused of being too lenient or too harsh. There’s “the no such thing as sin” camp or “you must have a really long nose and finger so you can look down and point to all the wrong doers” camp. Sorry, I take the bible seriously, so I’m kinda afraid to be in either of these camps.
10. I guess it has now become law that if you disagree with someone you must be shunned, ignored or just simply hated.
11. People like to compare themselves with others that seem much worse—I guess it feeds their pride or arrogance, both are equally repulsive.
12. Most of those who preach tolerance seem to be the ones that are the least tolerant.
13. I can be a self righteous jerk sometimes and need to be reminded of Matthew 5:20..For I say to you, unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. So again, it’s not what I do or don’t do but what Christ has done.
14. I think Liberals make very good points but a lot of them don’t hear me out long enough or they disagree with some things I stand for, so they throw me into the Conservative group. The Conservative group thinks I’m too liberal and therefore toss me back. Again, being in the middle of Romans 1 and 2 is a very lonely place. (see #9)
15. I have more grace and patience for people like myself.
16. The song “What Faith Can Do” by Kutless really makes me mad. They sing of some generic faith, positive thinking type philosophy. Not sure if they are endorsing Christ or Tony Robbins. Not a fan in general of pop Christian psychology mumbo jumbo.
17. I get upset, frustrated, mad, and worrisome when life happens. After all, I’m the center of the universe and I was placed on this earth for my comfort!
18. Staying with the feelings theme…Wonders why Christians think Christ sinned. Oh no, they won’t ever say it but when telling someone they can’t get mad and show that emotion, they are saying Christ sinned because he got angry and showed it. (of course I know about being angry but not sinning) But some take that to mean you can get angry but you need to hold it in, otherwise it’s sin. Well, I think I read somewhere that Jesus got angry and started flipping over some tables. And I think I recall Him telling off a Pharisee or two. It is difficult to refrain when you see people being abused, physically or spiritually. It would not be love to say or do nothing, in fact, refraining or holding it in might actually be sin.
19. Wonders why someone saying “Flippin idiot or Flip you!” with a harsh attitude is okay, but a bunch of guys saying the ‘F’ word or using ‘the finger’ in a joking way is somehow worse. Seems it would be the other way around.
20. Boy, after reading this list, and seeing how guilty I am myself, We are all Screwed!! And that’s why WE ALL need Christ. Some more than others….hehehe, just kidding! (see #7 and #11)
